Ventilation Mapping and Optimization
GrowScope visualizes airflow across a grow space to show where air is stagnant versus where a fan is blasting a plant directly, and includes a one-tap optimizer that proposes fan changes to fix it.
How to do this in GrowScope
- Enter your fans (role — exhaust, internal, clip, low-power — plus wall placement, speed %, direction, and diameter) and any carbon filters in the equipment setup.
- Open the Light section's Ventilation tab (indoor, a 3D particle visualization) or the balcony ventilation map (a 2D top-down heatmap).
- Review the stagnation, exhaust, and intake summary, plus any direct-blast warning.
- Tap "Optimize ventilation" to run the solver.
- Review the before/after stagnation comparison and the suggested per-fan changes, then apply or cancel.
Ventilation Map & Optimizer
- Category
- Climate
- Purpose
- Visualize airflow (stagnant vs. direct-blast zones) and suggest fan placement/speed changes.
- Input
- Fan list (role, wall placement, speed %, direction, diameter), carbon filters, box/place dimensions
- Unit
- % (fan speed), cm (dimensions)
- Location
- Light section → Ventilation tab (indoor 3D) or the balcony ventilation map (2D top-down)
- User action
- Enter fan and filter setup
- Review the airflow visualization
- Tap "Optimize ventilation"
- Apply or cancel the suggested changes
- Output
- A stagnation percentage, exhaust/intake balance, and a before/after comparison with concrete per-fan change suggestions (speed, angle). Nothing changes until you tap Apply.

Notes
- The balcony 2D view is explicitly a simplified heuristic, not a full 3D/CFD airflow simulation — the indoor 3D view is a particle-based visualization, also not a CFD solver.
- The "Optimize ventilation" button is a local deterministic solver, not an AI call: the criteria — less stagnation, no direct blast on a plant, a balanced exhaust/intake ratio — are built into the math itself rather than set by an AI advisor. So it runs instantly, is free on any plan, and spends no AI credits — same as viewing the ventilation map, stagnation percentage, and direct-blast warning. This is a separate feature from "AI Equipment Placement" (Light tab, the Ventilation block inside the placement panel), which is Pro-gated and does spend AI credits, because it asks AI to set priorities before running its own local coordinate solver.
- GrowScope does not control any hardware. It has no Bluetooth/WiFi connection to fans, controllers, or relays, and cannot turn a fan on, off, or up — it only tells you, in the app, what to change by hand on your own equipment. This is a different category from hardware fan/climate controllers (e.g. AC Infinity, TrolMaster, Spider Farmer's own controller apps), which do actuate the equipment directly.
Frequently asked questions
Does the ventilation optimizer apply changes automatically?
No — it only shows a preview. You must explicitly tap Apply for the suggested fan changes to take effect, and "Apply" only updates the plan GrowScope shows you — it does not send any signal to a fan or controller.
Can GrowScope control my fans or climate controller directly?
No. GrowScope has no hardware or Bluetooth/WiFi device integration. It analyzes airflow and recommends fan speed/placement changes for you to make manually — it is an advisory tool, not a device-control app.
