Grow Tent Monitoring App

"Monitoring" a grow tent usually means one of two things: hardware sensors that report numbers automatically, or an app that helps you make sense of numbers you measure yourself. GrowScope is the second kind — it doesn't integrate with physical sensor hardware. What it does do is take your readings and turn them into an actual physical picture of the tent, not just a log of numbers.

What tent monitoring should actually tell you

Wattage and a manufacturer's PAR map describe the light in a lab, not in your tent with your specific walls, height, and plant placement. The same is true for temperature and humidity — one sensor reading from one corner doesn't describe the whole space. Real monitoring means knowing where in the tent conditions actually differ.

How GrowScope handles it

GrowScope builds a physically modeled 3D light map of the tent using a Lambertian source model and material-specific wall/ceiling/floor reflectance, calibrated against your own PPFD readings taken at multiple points — not a wattage lookup table. Climate monitoring logs temperature and humidity with VPD calculated automatically. A deterministic fixture-placement optimizer suggests layout changes based on the calibrated map.

What it doesn't do

It doesn't read from Bluetooth or WiFi sensors automatically — every reading (temperature, humidity, PPFD) is one you take and type in yourself.

This fits you if

  • You want your manual readings turned into an actual map of the tent, not just a number log.
  • You want to know if the light or air in the tent is uneven before it shows up as uneven growth.

A simpler tool may be enough if

  • You want automatic hardware-sensor readings with no manual entry — that needs sensor hardware plus its own app, which GrowScope doesn't provide.

Frequently asked questions

Does GrowScope connect to physical sensors?

No. Every reading — temperature, humidity, PPFD — is measured with your own thermometer, hygrometer, or PPFD meter and entered manually.

What does the 3D light map actually need from me?

Your fixture type and mounting details, the tent's dimensions and wall material, and PPFD readings taken at a few points in the space — the model calibrates itself against those real readings.
