Per-Cycle Cost Tracking
GrowScope calculates the actual cost of a completed grow cycle — electricity, water, and fertilizer — from prices you set once, snapshotted into that cycle's own record so later price changes never rewrite historical costs.
How to do this in GrowScope
- In Settings, under Cost of growing, set your electricity price (per kWh), water price (per liter), and fertilizer price (per mL).
- Grow as usual — GrowScope already tracks power draw, photoperiod, watering, and feeding for the cycle.
- When you archive the finished cycle with a harvest report, the current prices and the cycle's actual usage are snapshotted into that cycle's record.
- View total cost and cost-per-gram, broken down by electricity, water, and fertilizer, on the Archive screen.

Notes
- This calculates cost only — electricity, water, and fertilizer, converted to a total and a cost-per-gram figure. There is no market-price, revenue, or profit/ROI calculation anywhere in the feature.
- Equipment depreciation, rent, and labor are not part of the calculation.
- Cost inputs are snapshotted into each cycle's own record at archive time, so a later price change never retroactively rewrites past cycles' costs.
Frequently asked questions
Does this calculate ROI or profit?
No — it calculates cost only (electricity, water, fertilizer, converted to a total and cost-per-gram). There's no revenue or market-price input, so it cannot compute profit or return on investment.
If I change my electricity price, does it affect past cycles?
No — prices are snapshotted into each cycle's record when you archive it, so later price changes never rewrite historical costs.
Is cost tracking a Pro feature?
No — it's free for every account.
