Feeding, Fertilizers, and EC/pH Tracking

Feeding in GrowScope starts with a personal fertilizer cabinet — the products you actually own, with their manufacturer's own dosing instructions — which then drives an automatically generated, full-cycle nutrition calendar.

How to do this in GrowScope

  1. Open Fertilizers → My fertilizers → Add fertilizer.
  2. Search the shared catalog by name/brand, or choose "Can't find the fertilizer? Add it manually."
  3. Enter the name, manufacturer, form (liquid/powder/granular/tablet), NPK composition, dosing window (min–max and unit), application method, and frequency, then save.
  4. To log an actual feeding: open the watering/feeding log (same screen as watering), choose "With fertilizers," enter the volume and any EC/pH/runoff readings, and save.

Fertilizer Cabinet

Category
Feeding
Purpose
Store the user's own fertilizer products, including the manufacturer's dosing instructions.
Input
Name, manufacturer, form, NPK composition (%), dosing window, application method, frequency
Location
Fertilizers → My fertilizers → Add fertilizer
User action
  1. Search the catalog or add a product manually
  2. Enter its dosing window and application details
  3. Save
Output
The product is added to the cabinet and becomes eligible for the auto-generated nutrition calendar.

Feeding Log

Category
Feeding
Purpose
Record EC/pH and volume for a watering-with-fertilizer event.
Input
Plain water or with-fertilizer toggle, volume, optional input/runoff EC and pH, optional TDS, runoff volume, note
Unit
mL (volume), mS/cm (EC), pH scale
Location
Same log as watering — the watering/feeding confirmation sheet
User action
  1. Choose plain water or with fertilizers
  2. Enter volume and any EC/pH/runoff readings
  3. Save
Output
Saved alongside the watering record; deterministic rule-based checks flag salt-stress risk (high runoff-vs-input EC ratio) or pH drift.

Nutrition Calendar

Category
Feeding
Purpose
Auto-generate a full-cycle feeding schedule from the plant's age, stage, pot/substrate, and cabinet fertilizers' confirmed dose ranges.
Input
None to enter directly — generated from plant data and the fertilizer cabinet; a specific day's assignment can be edited manually
Location
Plant screen → Nutrition calendar (first section shown on the plant screen)
User action
  1. Tap "Calculate calendar" (or "Recalculate calendar" to regenerate)
Output
A calendar synced through the plant's projected full cycle length, each feeding entry annotated with which fertilizer, dose, and a Dose Guard calculation note.

Notes

  • If none of a user's cabinet fertilizers have confirmed manufacturer dose data, the calendar is built water-only rather than guessing at doses.

Frequently asked questions

Does GrowScope calculate the feeding schedule for me?

Yes — once fertilizers are in your cabinet with their manufacturer dosing windows, the nutrition calendar generates the full-cycle feeding plan automatically based on the plant's age, stage, pot, and substrate.

Where do I record EC and pH?

On the same watering/feeding log screen as the watering event itself, not a separate form.

Is there an app to track a nutrient feeding schedule?

Yes — add your fertilizers to the cabinet with their manufacturer dosing windows, and the nutrition calendar auto-generates a full-cycle feeding schedule from the plant's age, stage, pot, and substrate, recalculable on demand.

Is there an EC and pH tracking app for hydroponic or soil growing?

Yes — the feeding log records input and runoff EC and pH alongside volume on the same screen as watering, and deterministic checks flag a high runoff-vs-input EC ratio (salt-stress risk) or pH drift automatically.
