Watering Tracking and Recommendations
GrowScope separates recording what you actually did (a watering log) from recommending what to do today (a calendar-based plan on Free, or an AI-driven daily decision on Pro).
How to do this in GrowScope
- Open the Today screen and select the plant, or open the plant's own screen.
- On the watering card, tap "Log actual watering" to record what the current plan calls for, "Add custom watering" to log a different amount/mix, or "Skip watering" if you didn't water.
- Optionally add pH, EC, and runoff readings in the same confirmation step (or save without them).
- Save. The event is timestamped and added to the plant's watering history.

Adaptive Watering

- Give an AI-driven daily water-or-wait decision based on recent climate, substrate drying, and watering history.

- None to enter — reads the plant's existing history; requires the day's climate/soil-moisture readings to be logged first

- View the daily decision
- Confirm the recommended watering, water on your own terms instead, or skip

- A "Water today" or "No watering today" card with a written reason. Any AI-proposed water volume is hard-clamped server-side to 50–20,000 mL regardless of what the model suggests, before it's ever shown to you.

Notes
- The Free tier's watering plan is entirely deterministic (calendar-based) — the AI-driven daily decision is a Pro-only feature called Adaptive Watering.
- There is no user-visible warning shown specifically when the water-volume clamp fires — the recommendation the user sees is already the clamped number.

Yes — Adaptive Watering (Pro) reads the plant's own logged climate, substrate-drying, and watering history and returns a daily 'water today' or 'no watering today' decision with a written reason, instead of a fixed calendar interval. Any proposed volume is hard-clamped to 50–20,000 mL before it's shown.
Is there an app that learns my plant's watering needs over time?
Yes — Adaptive Watering's daily decision is generated from the specific plant's own accumulated climate, drying, and watering history, not a generic schedule, so the recommendation shifts as that history changes.
